Babysitting all week

I think the highlight of this week was Thursday and Friday. We ended up having what felt like a million little kids are our house over those two days as we babysat. Thursday Sarah babysat a little boy James’s age all day long for one of our friends that had to travel for a day out of town. That day went pretty well. Eliza and James liked playing with him a lot. Friday night we had 9 children under the age of 8 staying at our house while their parents went to the temple. Luckily they were all really good kids and just played with each other. It was a minor miracle that they all made it to bed and fell asleep. Sarah and I realized that if we ever have that many kids we’ll need a bigger house!

Sarah drove all over the place this week. She drove to Taylor on Sunday for our regional conference broadcast. I had to go out early for a meeting so she brought the kids out by herself. On Monday she went down into Austin for some things. On Tuesday she drove out to Round Rock for James’s one year doctor appointment. She’s doing great at driving these days and is back to her normal self.

James and Eliza have had a fun week. They are good at playing with each other and sharing. Eliza gets up every morning and dumps out the Duplos and makes houses. She takes the large flat pieces and fills them up with other pieces and gives them to us. James loves to eat the Lego pieces. For the most part, they play and have a good time. James is so happy that he can walk these days. He loves his new-found mobility.

Grandma and Papa Arnesen flew in on Saturday afternoon, and they played with Eliza and James all the rest of the day. Eliza loved playing hide and seek with them, and they played with Duplos a lot. We’re happy to have them here!
