Sarah had a “Missionary Minded Brunch” for some ladies in the ward this week. It ended up being a bit crazy because people were late and one of the other ward missionaries is starting to move out of her house and so her time is crazy. The brunch went well, all things considered, but Sarah said that they’re probably not going to do more for a while. They’ve sort of run our of people who are willing to come.
I went to the Blue and Gold banquet for the Cub Scouts on Wednesday. They did an excellent job and didn’t even try to use it as a fundraiser this year! I had a good time. I was there because one of the boys was turning 11 and I was there to do the cross over ceremony. That night for scouts we did a 2-mile hike. There is a fun trail by the church that we did. It was a gorgeous night for hiking and we had fun looking at the stars and talking. I have a really good group of boys and I love working with them.
We went to a convert baptism on Saturday night for two young men. We took the whole family because we thought it would be good for Eliza to see.It was pretty late in the night but she had a good time. She kept on asking about cookies the whole time because we made the mistake of showing her the dessert table before we started. She also got a bit scared for the boys that were being baptized. She does pretty well with water but I think she was afraid for them going under the water.
Eliza has been doing better and better at using her fork and spoon. Her favorite meal this week was piggies in a blanket because she got to dip it in ketchup. As much as she likes the piggies in a blanket, she loved the broccoli more. She tries to dip things all the time. She’ll dip her food in her water, her beans in her main dish, etc. She loves James to death and has taken to saying “awwww” whenever he does something cute. She likes to say “goo” at him when he “talks.”
James is getting closer to rolling over. We’ve been more diligent this week about doing tummy time with him and he’s getting more and more wiggly. He can rotate while still on his tummy but isn’t moving forward or back yet.
We had our good friends the Sorensen’s over this week. Their son Caleb is only a few weeks younger than James so we had them meet each other.
We sure love all of you as our family. Thanks for being so great. Hope you all have a great week!
