Eliza is getting to be more and more like a two-year-old. She’s starting to push the limits on things more and more which is challenging. The best example of this is with her sleeping. Sometime last week she decided that she didn’t want to sleep in her bed anymore. She wanted to sleep on the floor by the door to her room. She would fight us tooth and nail when we tried to put her in her bed. We let her sleep by the door for a few days but then decided that she really did need to sleep in her bed. We had quite a go of it in Friday night and Sarah did most of the hard work of putting her back in bed over and over and dealing with the tantrum. She learned quickly though and when I put her down on Saturday she was much better. She still fought me a bit but not nearly as long as Friday.
Eliza has been getting very good at saying prayers over the food. She can almost do the whole thing by herself. She loves to pray and sometimes just starts praying in the middle of the day. It’s great! What a great reminder.
James has been getting more and more interested in being mobile. He started turning from back to front consistently just today and he can rotate on his tummy. He can’t go forward yet and this drives him crazy sometimes. He adores Eliza and watches her every move. Tonight when we were saying family prayer, Sarah was standing him up and he just started giggling and giggling at Eliza. It was the cutest thing.
Sarah and I are doing well. We set a goal last week to get to bed earlier and then totally blew that goal right away. In fact, we stayed up way too late on Friday watching Interstellar and that threw us off. Sarah is busy with the kids and with helping friends in the ward with their kids. It seems like someone is over at our house every day for Sarah to watch them. It is nice for her to have the van now and be able to be mobile. I had a busy week at work with our internal technical conference this week. I gave a very enlightening presentation on Thursday entitled “A Tale of Two Morons.” It was pretty good.
